Welcome to The Singing Horse. I'm Nancy (@nancy_aka_singinghorse) and I'm British born Hakka Chinese. I began cooking as a hobby when I was young because I wanted to explore different culture especially my ancestral root through food. I would use basic and natural ingredients in which our ancestors would have used and then I would share the recipes here. From time to time, my OH Other Half (#braxsprivatekitchen) who is Malaysian born Chinese would cook and share his recipes here too. He inspired me to combine my passion in languages with cooking because many overseas born Chinese can not read Chinese or their first/native language is not English which prevent them from understanding their culture. I hope this food blog enables everyone to understand the history and culture behind each dish. Enjoy!

Bienvenidos a The Singing Horse. Me llamo Nancy (@nancy_aka_singinghorse) y soy china hakka nacida en Inglaterra. Cuando yo era pequeña, cocinaba como un pasatiempo porque quería explorar las culturas diferentes especialmente mi origen por la comida. Uso los ingredientes básicos de los que nuestros antepasados usaban en la cocina y después publico la receta aquí. De vez en cuando, mi marido (#braxsprivatekitchen) que es chino nacido en Malasia, también cocina y comparte sus recetas. Me movió a combinar mi interés en el idioma con mi interés en la cocina porque hay muchos chinos nacidos en el extranjero (fuera de China) que no pueden hablar chino u inglés y esas barreras los impiden entender bien a sus culturas. Espero que este blog pudiera ayudar a todos a entender bien la historia y la cultura de cada plato del mundo. ¡Disfruta!

Bienvenue à The Singing Horse. Je m'appelle Nancy (@nancy_aka_singinghorse) et je suis Chinoise Hakka née en Angleterre. Quand j'étais petite, je faisait la cuisine par passe-temps parce que je voulais explorer les différentes cultures, en particulier mon origine par la cuisine. J'utilise les ingrédients de base ce que nos ancêtres utilisaient dans leur cuisine, puis je publie la recette ici. De temps en temps, mon mari (#braxsprivatekitchen) qui est Chinois né en Malaisie, il fait la cuisine et il partage la recette aussi. Il m'a inspiré de combiner mon intérêt pour les langues et mon intérêt pour cuisinier parce qu'il y a beaucoup de Chinois nés à l'étranger (pas en Chine) qui ne peuvent pas parler chinois ni anglais et ces barrières les empêchent de comprendre leurs cultures. J'espère que ce blog peut aider tout le monde à comprendre l'histoire et la culture de chaque plat du monde. Profitez!
